Kay Price-Lindsay named President of the Year 2016/2017

Not only did Two Oceans Toastmasters become President Distinguished club for the 8th year in a row for year 2016/2017, but our president Kay Price-Lindsay was awarded the prestigious title of President of the Year for Division D. 

 

Anél Pieter Hammersma represents Two Oceans at the Division Contest

One of our newest members Anél (on the left), has flown through the International prepared speaking contest rounds and will be representing our club on Saturday the 7th April at the Division Contest. Her speech title 'Noise' is a delightful look at mindfulness, accepting life on life's terms and surrender.

Delivered with her amazing confidence, powerful presence and hilarious storytelling ability, we are watching this space.

Spreading the word

Toastmaster Kevin Robinson, who holds the record for the most ums in his first speech (63) has certainly conquered public speaking and now finds himself giving presentations internationally in his career. Here he is with the group he addressed in Ghana recently on solar energy. "I couldn't have done it without Toastmasters!"

Verity is crowned SA Evaluations Champ

In a first for Two Oceans, member Verity Price brought by the title of District 74 Evaluations Champion for 2015!  This is the second time a member has been crowned a District Champion - in 2012 Verity's sister Kay Price-Lindsay won the District Prepared Speaking title. We are a club on fire!

October marks the 90th anniversary of Toastmasters International. Since 1924, Toastmasters has helped millions of members empower themselves by gaining communication and leadership skills, enabling them to lead richer lives. 

Two Oceans celebrated with a specially baked and decorate cake to mark the occasion - the wonderful work of our brilliant Vice President Public Relations - Devi Paulsen!

Two Oceans Toastmasters raises the roof with laughter

The Fish Hoek Civic Centre roof was raised with roars of side-splitting laughter at the recently hosted Two Oceans Toastmasters annual Humorous and Impromptu Speech Competition.

After seven prepared humorous speeches and five impromptu presentations, the judge’s pencils came to a rest and the top two places for each category were announced: Verity Price and Reto Camichel walked away with the first and second places in the impromptu category while and Jeremy Fenn and Chris Smyly bagged first ...
