A brief chronological history of Two Oceans Toastmasters club is presented below.
12 November 1990
The very first meeting, organised by Denis Jennings and Isobel Berry ; both were members of Good Hope Toastmasters (club 4374).
28 November 1990
The second meeting ; several guests joined the organisation.
18 February 1991
Formal permission was granted by Toastmasters International to Isobel Berry to organise a new Toastmasters club in Fish Hoek.
21 May 1991
Two Oceans Toastmasters was officially chartered by Toastmasters International, and assigned club number 8185.
17 August 1991
Charter Presentation dinner, held at the Avenue Hotel in Fish Hoek.
6 September 2000
The 150'th meeting.
8 November 2000
10'th anniversary meeting, attended by many of the original charter members.
18 December 2000
The club web site was established by Paul Kilfoil
30 June 2003
President's Distinguished Club status was achieved for the first time in the club's history - 9 of the 10 Distinguished Club Program goals were met, and membership had risen to 24.
2 June 2004
The 200'th meeting, held at The Red Tomato restaurant in Fish Hoek.
21 May 2005
The club's web site was named the "Best Toastmasters Club Web Site in Southern Africa" for 2004/2005.
12 May 2007
The club's web site was named the "Best Toastmasters Club Web Site in Southern Africa" (again) for 2006/2007.
19 April 2008
Two Oceans Toastmasters supplied all 3 contestants for Area 1 at the Toastmasters Southern Africa, Division D speech contests - the best performance ever by the club in the annual speech contests.

A group for Two Oceans Toastmasters was created on the popular internet social networking site FaceBook

President's Distinguished Club status was achieved for the second time in the club's history - 9 of the 10 Distinguished Club Program goals were met, and membership had risen to 24.

20'th anniversary meeting, attended by many special guests.

Two Oceans Toastmasters was set up on the Easy-Speak web site.
29 March 2012
Two Oceans Toastmasters hosted the Division D "International" Speech Contest for the first time at The Alphen Hall in Constantia.
A member of Two Oceans Toastmasters (Kay Price-Lindsay) won the Division D "International" speech contest for the first time ever.
16 April 2012
A second monthly club meeting was introduced, in the morning on the second Monday after the main meeting.

The 300'th meeting.

A member of Two Oceans Toastmasters (Kay Price-Lindsay) won the District 74 "International" speech contest for the first time ever.

Marion Thomas was named Toastmaster of the Year for Division D
23rd April 2013
Lorne Sulcas (evaluation) and Francois Roux (prepared speech) are crowned Area Winners for the International Speech and Evaluation contest
15th May 2013
Lorne Sulcas (evaluation) is crowned Division Winnter for the International Evaluation contest and Francois Roux (prepared speech) is placed 3rd
25th May 2013
Lorne Sulcas is placed 3rd in the District at the International Evaluations Contest
March 2014
Reto Carmichel is placed 1st in Division for International Speaking and Lorne Sulcas is placed first for Evaluations
May 2014
Reto Carmichel is placed 2nd in the District for International Prepared Speaking and Lorne Sulcas is place 3rd for International Evaluations
Aug 2014
Chris Smyly is placed first in Division for Humourous Speaking
April 2015
Francois Roux is placed 1st in Division for International Prepared Speaking and Verity Price is place 1st for Evaluations

Verity Price is crowned the District 74 Evaluations Champion
