Toastmaster Kevin Robinson, who holds the record for the most ums in his first speech (63) has certainly conquered public speaking and now finds himself giving presentations internationally in his career. The Fish Hoek Civic Centre roof was raised with roars of side-splitting laughter at the recently hosted Two Oceans Toastmasters annual Humorous and Impromptu Speech Competition.

Lorne Sulcas took 3rd place at the District 74 Evaluations Contest on 16 May and Reto Camichel went on to take 2nd place at the Prepared Speaking contest on 17 May. A HUGE success for them both and for Two Oceans.

At the Toastmasters end of year awards dinner held at Newlands Cricket club on Saturday the 20th of July, we proved that we not only have the spirit, but we also have what it takes to be a top club that produces great leaders!

represent Two Oceans (and Southern Africa) at the International Public Speaking

Toastmasters hosted the annual Division D speech contests in the Alphen
Hall in Constantia. This was the first time our club had hosted such an
event and it went brilliantly. With over 100 guests, fantastic finalists
in the Prepared Speaking, Impromptu and Evaluation sections and

The annual speech contests for Area D1 were held at Good Hope Toastmasters in Tokai.
From Two Oceans Toastmasters Kay Price-Lindsay won the International (prepared) speech contest and Sandi Welsh
placed second in the Impromptu Speaking contest (which was won by Mike
Fawcett from Achievers Toastmasters). Oliver Hagan (Grove Toastmasters)
won the Evaluations contest.
Kay will represent area D1 at the Division D

Kay Price-Lindsay (international or prepared speech), Lorne Sulcas (evaluations) and Sandi Welsh (impromptu speaking).
