6 March: Contest Meeting Review

Posted by LP User on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 Under: Contests
The caliber of the speeches and evaluations at our contest meeting tonight was absolutely astounding, but unfortunately each contest can only have one winner. Congratulations to Francois Roux who won the English International contest . Francois, we will be cheering you on at the Area Contest! Also a big thumbs up to Claire Strobach who came close second and continues to grow and flourish as a speaker.

The Evaluation Contest had a nail biting finish with Verity Price and Lorne Sulcas head on head. The tiebreaker judge had to be called in and first place went to Verity and second to Lorne.

Thank you to all the officials who helped out and especially to Catherine Burnett who chaired the contest and did an excellent job. Both Francois & Verity will compete at the Area contest on 23 April at Wynberg Boys High, so please come out to support them.
