15 Oct: Early Bird Express Meeting Review

This Monday morning saw a small group of Two Oceans members and guests gather at The Windsor Garden Restaurant for another Express Meeting. Though the gathering was small, the spirit, as always, was big.

Claire Strohbach
gallantly stepped into the Toastmasters role at the last minute, and as always she guided the meeting gracefully and eloquently!  Our newest member Debby Satchel, delivered a wonderful CC1 that took us on her journey of dealing with her fear of public speaking. It is very clear that through facing her fears, Debby is a natural speaker who will be a great asset to the club as she grows and learns through the Toastmasters Program. Debby's speech was followed by Mike Fawcett who gave a fascinating AC5 looking at the history of Winchester Cathedral and how it was saved from sinking into the swamp lands by one man!

After a delicious breakfast and coffees all round, Verity Price led the Table Topic's section and everyone tried their hand at early morning impromptu speaking. It was clear that the members would like to ensure that Table Topics becomes a regular slot at the Express Meetings as they are a hugely valuable way to improve our speaking.

All in all another wonderful meeting and a brilliant way to start the week!
