13 Aug - Early Bird Express Meeting

Two Oceans enjoyed a true Woman's Month Early Bird meeting this morning, with Alana Bryne single handedly taking on being Sergeant At Arms, Toastmaster and Evaluator for two speeches!  Stepping in Marion who came down with flu, Alana did a sterling job of multi-tasking through her various roles of the morning. Verity stood in a President for the Toast and Awards, while a first time visitor Andrew acted as timekeeper!

It made for a very festive meeting with a thought provoking and beautifully crafted CC2 delivered by Claire Strobach, an informative CC7 on the dangers of sugar from Verity Price and a humourous look at how to avoid embarrassing situations by Ruth Cort in her AC2. Alana and Catherine Burnett gave insightful and helpful evaluations and after a delicious breakfast everyone felt more than ready to face the week.

The meeting saw two guests - Linda and Andrew (who is a Toastmaster from Edinburgh). The feedback from them about the meeting was very positive and Linda will be joining the club from October, while Andrew will be visiting our next Club Meeting and is looking to possibly join!

The Best Speech of the morning went to Verity (CC7) and Best Evaluator went to Alana.
