11 Aug - Kay's Farewell PR Event

On Sat 11th August over 60 friends, family and fellow toastmasters gathered at The Forge in Kalkbay to watch Kay Price-Lindsay deliver her final dress rehearsal of her two speeches for the Toastmasters International Speaking World Championships that begin on 16th August in Orlando, Florida. The support for Kay was tangible in the room and it was no surprise that after delivering her second speech the audience gave her a standing ovation!  Everyone felt that regardless of the outcome this week, Kay is our champion through and through!

Kay's send off also served as a brilliant PR event for Two Oceans Toastmasters and Alana Bryne along with Kay, Tony and Verity ensured that the opportunity to let the guests know more about how Toastmasters work was not lost. Six people expressed interest in joining the club and many more will be visiting future meetings. All in all a very successful event!

Kay then packed her bags and was surprised today by a colourful crew of Two Oceans Toastmasters members waiting at the airport to give her one last good luck hug.  We have no doubt that Kay will do the Rainbow nation proud!
